Immortal

Battles In The North

Reviewed by the Wanderer

Following the trend started in their second album "Pure Holocaust", Immortal carries on blasting and leaving us with a need of a break. All the songs in the album are fast as hell, apart from the last one "Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark)", which is more mid-paced, although it still has fast doublekick, and some acoustic guitar moments that we would find more often in later works. The sound carries on being cold and like that of a storm. Abbath voice has also gone considerably better and more personal. This album kicks fuckin ass.
