The Eternal Fall / Resurrection Absurd

Reviewed by frank wells

A leap back in time, when melody hadn't killed death metal yet. It was 1989/90, when Morgoth recorded these two Ep's later re-released on one CD.
Someone renamed this album as "Spiritual Healing pt.2", and this definition isn't far from the musical approach of Morgoth. Songwriting seems to be inspired by everything composed between "Leprosy" and Death's third album, with crunchy mid-tempos, doomy passages and fast parts very well played. Personally I love all the ensemble, the sound of guitars, the way the drummer plays, the VOICE of Marc "Schuldiner" Grewe: this is really a death metal masterpiece, coming from a lost time!
